Booking a Personal Color Analysis for the first time? Here’s how to prepare for your colour consultation, what to wear, and what to expect on the day.
A Personal Color Analysis is a great way to discover which colours naturally complement your skin tone, eyes and overall appearance. But if you've never had a colour analysis before, you may be wondering what you should do before your appointment.
Here are a few simple steps to help me see your natural colouring more clearly and make the most of your Personal Color Analysis.
How should you prepare for a Personal Color Analysis?
1. Arrive with a makeup-free face
One of the most important things to remember before your Personal Color Analysis is to arrive with a completely makeup-free and moisturized face.
Foundation, concealer, bronzer and blush can alter the appearance of your natural skin tone and make it more difficult to assess your colouring accurately.
Skincare is absolutely fine, I simply want to see your natural complexion.
2. Wear contact lenses if possible
If you normally wear glasses, I recommend wearing contact lenses instead, if this is comfortable and possible for you.
Glasses frames can introduce another colour close to your face, which may influence the overall impression during the colour analysis.
Don't wear contact lenses? No problem. Your comfort is always more important, and I can still perform your Personal Color Analysis while you are wearing your glasses.
3. Avoid earrings and facial piercings
I recommend avoiding earrings and noticeable facial piercings during your colour consultation.
Metal, gemstones and other colours close to the face can affect how we perceive different colours next to your natural colouring.
4. What should I wear to a Color Analysis?
If you're wondering what to wear to a Personal Color Analysis, the simplest answer is: something comfortable.
You don't need to wear anything special. During the analysis, I will cover your clothing with a white drape, creating a neutral background so that we can focus on how different colours interact with your natural colouring.
So don't worry about finding the “perfect” outfit for your appointment. Just wear something that makes you feel comfortable.
5. Do I need to bring anything?
No special preparation or materials are required.
However, I encourage you to bring along the makeup products you use in your everyday routine. During our appointment, we can look at your makeup together and discuss which shades complement your colouring best.
Getting ready for your Color Analysis
Come without makeup, keep your accessories simple, wear something comfortable and bring your curiosity. This time is reserved for you.
You may leave with a new favourite colour, a better understanding of your wardrobe, or simply the confidence to wear colours you've never considered before.
What happens during your Color Analysis Test?
During my personalised Color Analysis sessions, we don't just talk about your colours. We explore outfit inspiration, patterns, hair colour ideas, makeup and more.
Think of it as creating a personal style moodboard, designed around you and your unique colouring.
We look at how your colours can translate into your everyday wardrobe and personal style, so you can actually use what you've discovered long after the consultation.
